CARE I recommend that they are hand washed and they can be ironed on the silk setting on an iron (usually 1).
IN THE MAKING
I hand paint unique and colourful designs on to silk to create scarves and wall hangings. First the silk is stretched on to a wooden frame and then I draw my design using an outliner pen. This has to dry for a few hours before I can apply the colour which is brushed on spreads through the silk and stops at the outlines. Again, it is left to dry for a couple of hours and then I carefully iron it underneath a cloth to protect it. The heat of the iron fixes the colour on to the silk. After this it needs washed in warm water to wash the outliner resist off. Then it is left to dry and ironed again before it is ready for the shop. For wall hangings they are sewn on to large pieces of cloth with a wooden pole at the top for hanging.
